Some people think of affiliate marketing 
as a scam, or a waste of time, as opposed to a real legitimate business. I think that this might be the case due to the dishonesty of some marketers involved.
It is rather unfortunate that there are marketers out there who are just after making a quick buck and don’t really care as to whether or not you need or can use the product that they are offering you.
There are some marketers who are unscrupulous enough to sell you something that they know won’t work for you, then turn around and sell you something else to make that first thing work. Then again, there are some who don’t really have a real product or service for sale, but they simply sell hype and they know it.
Let’s not forget the “fake it ‘til you make it” kind of marketer. These are the ones who stand in front of someone else’s house, sports car, or yacht in an effort to persuade you that what they are doing is paying off big time.
However, these individuals are just playing on the psyches of individuals who might be thinking “Hey, I want what he has, so maybe if I do what he’s doing, I’ll have those same things.” Before you know it, you’ve been scammed and the marketer’s message was all just hype.
Honestly speaking, there is nothing wrong with wanting to achieve more but how an individual goes about achieving that is also important. Some of these marketers are indeed faking it but they’ll only make it if you buy into their get rich quick schemes.
Two things stand out here
- Lack of authenticity and integrity of these marketers and their messages, coupled with
- Unrealistic expectations of the individuals who buy into these messages.

Once they’ve found the relevant information, they’ll make their purchase.
If that purchase is made based on your honest recommendation and via a link from your website, then you get a commission from that sale. It’s that simple.

Like i said before, affiliate marketing IS NOT a get rich sort of thing. What you need to understand is that it can take a while before you actually see results from your efforts.
It could be a month, a year or even more than a year, as it depends on the effort and time YOU are willing to invest in your business, on a daily basis. Therefore, another key is having a long term focus for your online business, because this is not about turning over quick cash.
