Here’s what you really need to know!
In general, surveys are a great way to collect information from lots of people quickly and cheaply. It’s actually one of the cheapest methods to use when doing research, depending on what you’re looking for. For example, if a company is looking for feedback on a product or service that they offer, then a survey is an easy way to collect that kind of information.
What online surveys are really all about
Now there are lots of companies out there that want feedback on the products or services they offer. In most cases, they want to improve these products and services, so they utilize surveys to get the information that they need, from a particular group of people. Depending on what they are looking for, their target market consist of the people who they think use the products.
Since the majority of people are online, it’s more feasible to offer the survey online, as opposed to mailing it out to individuals. Offering the survey online provides several advantages:
- They save on mailing stuff out;
- The company can find their target audience easier;
- Survey response and returns are much better, since individuals completing the survey don’t have to mail anything back to them. Let’s face it, some people wouldn’t really care to do this.
- Convenient to both parties; you the survey taker and the company. You can do a survey on your way to work or where ever, once you’ve got a connection.
How much Can You Earn with online surveys?
Now isn’t that the magic question? Well, let’s just say that online surveys are not about financial independence. Because even though there are some high paying online surveys, most of them aren’t. In most cases when you actually get to complete a survey, you’re rewarded with points, which you can redeem for rewards. Rewards can range from gift cards to cash and other items. For example, 100 points can equate to $1.00, so once you earn 1000 points you would have earned a whopping $10.00!
What you also need to know is that you are required to meet the minimum points or cash required, before you can redeem any rewards. These minimums also vary from opportunity to opportunity. For example, at PaidViewpoint.com you can earn between $0.03 and $0.10 taking “Trait Surveys.” Once you’ve accumulated a $15.00 USD balance, you can request cash or an Amazon or Walmart e-gift card. Depending on the opportunity, the minimum needed for rewards can vary from $25.00 to at least $50.00.
Are Paid Online Surveys Legit?
Well, most of them are. But clearly you can see that it’s nothing to quit your job over. Here’s what really happens. These surveys are often administered by a third party. So what you earn is most likely influenced by the arrangement between the company and the survey provider (the third party). Even so, here are a few more things you also need to be mindful of, when it comes to paid online surveys.
The bane of Paid Online Surveys!
Demographics
Your earnings depend on whether you actually get a survey or not. Yep. Don’t think that once you sign up you’ll automatically start getting surveys. No, way! The main factor that influences this is your demographics. If you’re age, gender, interest, location etc, does not fit the target audience criteria, then you don’t get a survey. At least not right away. Actually, you could be waiting for a few months or more, before you even get a survey. Yikes! Actually, that has been one of the more popular complaints about surveys.
Disqualification
Whenever you do get a survey, there is the possibility that you can
be disqualified depending on how you answer the “stinky fish” question. That’s the question that’s there to determine whether or not you really fit the target market criteria that they are looking for. In some cases, you will still get partially rewarded for being disqualified, but this is not the case across the board with surveys.
Survey Quotas
To make matters worse, what can also happen is that the survey can be closed while you’re still working on it. Crazy right? But that happens because there is a limited or fixed amount of responses being sought after. Once the required number of responses have been acquired, then that’s it. That survey is closed and it does not matter if you were working on in or not.
Now the question is, “How long are you willing to wait to spend 5 to 45 minutes just to make $0.10?” You’ll have to answer that question for yourself. But to me, there are batter ways to make money online.
